Senior Circuit

Te Puru’s Senior Circuit classes are a really great way to keep active and enjoy exercise in a fun and social environment. You don’t need any experience to join the class, and any equipment needed will be provided. 

Our classes are run by Nicki Toms, a highly qualified personal trainer with a bubbly personality that ensures the classes are loads of fun and truly beneficial – no matter what your level of fitness or mobility.

What happens at our classes?

We start with a chat and wellness check-in.  A gentle warm up follows concentrating on breathing, balance and leaning-in on any sore bits…

Next is an all-over body workout from head to toe – focusing on weight transfer, functional body movement and breathing.

We do some ball work (balls are provided) for mobility, co-ordination and general fitness. Stretching is also incorporated so it’s a co-ordinated workout with both standing and sitting exercises.  We also incorporate seated yoga and posture work.

We close with Mindfulness to wind down – eyes closed and doing gentle movements to build confidence and keep us relaxed and centred. The exercises are all transferable to your home life and can be done during your daily routines!

And there’s more – Once a month, we hold a Senior Social!

Te Puru provides tea and coffee, you bring a plate to share and enjoy a chat with your fellow exercisers!  It’s a great opportunity to catch-up for a good conversation after class.
